GIVE 365 to support Vulnerable Populations

GIVE 365 Wayne County, the dollar-a-day philanthropy initiative of the Wayne County Community Foundation, is accepting grant applications from area nonprofits. The theme for this year’s grant cycle, as voted on by the GIVE 365 membership, is “Supporting Wayne County’s Most Vulnerable Citizens”.

Now in its eighth year, GIVE 365 unites and informs emerging philanthropists to make a collective impact on Wayne County, Ohio. Members donate $365 a year, pool their money with others, and vote on both an annual grant making theme and grant recipients. GIVE 365 gives members the chance to actively participate in the grant process.

The 2024 grant will fund programs or projects that address issues affecting our most vulnerable citizens. While it is up to the nonprofit organizations to present programs, examples include a wide-array of issues and populations: homelessness, elderly individuals and their care givers, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those suffering from food insecurity. The broadness of the theme this year will allow for members to review proposals on a wide-array of topics to make the greatest impact in our community.

All grant applications should respond to this theme. Grant application must be completed online at www.WayneCountyCommunityFoundation.org by 11:59pm on March 1st. The membership of GIVE 365 will review all applications and make their recommendation to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Organizations may be asked to meet with the membership of GIVE 365 to respond to questions about their proposals.

With over 115 current members, comprised of individuals, couples, and families, GIVE 365 will grant approximately $25,000 this year, with additional funds set aside in a permanently endowed fund for future growth.
