WCCF Announces Stanley C. Gault Philanthropic Leadership Fund Grants

The Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF) is pleased to announce the first grants from the Stanley C. Gault Philanthropic Leadership Fund. In May, the Wayne County Community Foundation Board of Trustees approved the Fund’s Advisory Committee’s recommendations for the following grants:

• Ohio’s LifeCare Hospice received a $50,000 grant for their Hospice Center for Supportive Care Campaign.
• Downtown Arts Theater Inc. received a $20,000 grant for the purchase of the theater building in downtown Wooster. Then, an $80,000 grant has been approved for Phase 2 of the project, to be awarded when the project is within 10% of its stated campaign goal.

The Stanley C. Gault Philanthropic Leadership Fund was established at the Wayne County Community Foundation with a grant from the Burton D. Morgan Foundation to perpetuate the ideal of service and active involvement in philanthropy that Stan embodied throughout his life. Since its inception, the Gault Fund, a permanent endowment, has also benefitted from the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations who knew Stan well and worked closely with him.

The purpose of the Fund is to make grants to non-profit entities whose work supports the well-being of citizens in Wayne County, Ohio, through projects that enhance the quality of life and economic vitality of this region. The Fund may not only consider competitive requests, but it may also be proactive in making contributions for pivotal needs that will have a positive impact on the lives of area residents.
