GIVE 365 to address the needs of the homeless

GIVE 365 Wayne County, the dollar-a-day philanthropy initiative of the Wayne County Community Foundation, is accepting grant applications from area nonprofits. The theme for this year’s grant cycle, as voted on by the GIVE 365 membership, is “Homelessness in Wayne County”.

In its fourth year, GIVE 365 unites and informs emerging philanthropists to make a collective impact on Wayne County, Ohio. Members donate $365 a year, pool their money with others, and vote on both an annual grant making theme and grant recipients. GIVE 365 gives members the chance to actively participate in the grant making process.

The 2020 grant will fund programs or projects that address issues affecting the homeless population in Wayne County, Ohio. While it is up to the nonprofit organizations to present program needs, examples of issues may include affordable housing, mental health, or childcare. All grant applications should respond to the larger theme. Grant application must be completed online at GIVE 365 Wayne County grants by noon on March 1st. The membership of GIVE 365 will review all applications and make their recommendation to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Organizations may be asked to meet with the membership of GIVE 365 to respond to questions about their proposals.

With over 80 current members, comprised of individuals, couples, and families, GIVE 365 will grant approximately $19,000 this year, with additional funds set aside in a permanently endowed fund for future growth.
