The Women's Fund was established to impact the lives of women and children in Wayne County, Ohio by directing resources to organizations that support the education of women and empower change and self-sufficiency.
The Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF) is pleased to announce the 2016 grant awards from The Women’s Fund. Based on the evaluations and recommendations from The Women’s Fund Advisory Committee, the WCCF Board of Trustees approved the following grant awards:
OneEighty, Inc. received $15,000 for Women’s Recovery Support, a pilot project to address drug addiction in Wayne County women.
The Common Good received a 2-1 challenge grant of $6,200 for workshops and “training the trainer” programs that are the next step in their Women’s Empowerment program.
This is the second competitive grant cycle of The Women’s Fund, with a total of $36,200 awarded, to benefit women in Wayne County, since its inception in 2013.
The WCCF is a not-for-profit charitable community organization established in 1978 to accept contributions, create and administer funds, and make grants for the benefit of the people of the greater Wayne County area. The Foundation has awarded more than $62 million in the form of grants and scholarships from its 390 separate funds. As part of the WCCF, donations can be made to The Women’s Fund by individuals, families, businesses and service organizations to allow for greater future grant opportunities. The Women’s Fund grant guidelines and online application are available at www.waynecountycommunityfoundation.org. Competitive grant applications from nonprofit, tax-exempt, charitable organizations that benefit women within the greater Wayne County, Ohio, area should be submitted by March 1 each year.
