The Wayne County Community Youth Foundation (YF) is currently accepting applications for student advisors for the 2015-16 school year. The Youth Foundation was established to provide educational and practical experiences on how foundations operate for the purpose of getting students engaged in local structured philanthropy. These student advisors will gain valuable leadership experience, learn more about local charitable giving, understand how charitable funds grow, evaluate and recommend grant awards, and meet local philanthropic leaders.
Applicants need to be enrolled in any Wayne County High School as juniors beginning this Fall. YF meetings are held one Sunday per month during the school year. Each meeting is held at a different youth service provider and includes dinner. There are no costs to apply, no dues, or expenses except those incurred for transportation to and from meetings.
Applicants must submit an application form and a letter of recommendation from someone other than a relative. Information and forms can be downloaded from the WCCF website, www.waynecountycommunityfoundation.org/our-funds/wayne-county-community-youth-foundation, or contact Ferenc M. Relle, Jr. at 330-749-5141. Application deadline is May 4. Deadline extended to May 12, 2015.
