The Wayne County Community Youth Foundation (YF) is currently accepting applications for student advisors for the 2014-15 school year. YF was established to provide educational and practical experiences on how community foundations operate for the purpose of getting students engaged in local "structured" philanthropy.
A select group of Wayne County high school juniors and second-year College of Wooster students will gain valuable leadership experience, learn more about local charitable giving, understand how charitable funds grow, evaluate and recommend grant awards, and meet local philanthropic leaders.
YF meetings are held one Sunday per month during the school year. Each 3-hour meeting is held at a different youth service provider and includes a light dinner. There is no cost to apply, and there are no dues or expenses except for those incurred for transportation to and from meetings. The class size is limited to 20 high school and 10 college students.
Information and applications can be downloaded from the Wayne County Community Youth Foundation page of our website. Application deadline is May 1.
