New Milestone for Community Foundation

As the Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF) approaches its 35th anniversary, the county’s resource for charitable minded individuals, families, corporations and nonprofits is already celebrating some impressive milestones: as of March 2013, the Foundation has awarded over $53 million in grants and its assets have now topped the $51 million mark!

The Foundation began in 1978 with an initial charitable donation of $1,000. Since that time, we’ve served thousands of donors. Our exceptional growth would not be possible without a strong investment policy and the continuous support of long-time donors and new members of the Community Foundation family.

As experts in philanthropy, Foundation staff provide strategic advice to donors while simultaneously addressing the county’s problems through our own grant making and community initiatives. Every day, we are working to learn more about the needs of our community in areas ranging from health and human
services to education, the arts, and the environment.

The Wayne County Community Foundation will kick off its 35th year anniversary celebration this December.
